Angeln am Rursee
Simmerath
Enjoy the silence, hold the fishing rod in the water, let nature work its magic and unhook a big fish - these are the ingredients that make fishing so fascinating.
Around the Rur and Obersee, it is possible to fish around 50 kilometers of the shore. Pike, pikeperch, carp and perch are just a few types of fish that the local underwater world has to offer. All it takes is a fishing license, permit, equipment and the right bait.
By the way: There is a barrier-free fishing pier at Eiserbachsee, which is located in the middle of the “Rurseezentrum”. The jetty meets the criteria of the “Handicap-Angelverband Deutschland e. V .”. There is a disabled parking space directly in front of the entrance gate to the fishing area and a barrier-free toilet is located in the closeby National Park gate.
The fishing permit for the Rursee is available at the National Park Gate in Rurberg, Seeufer 3, 52152 Simmerath-Rurberg and at the National Park Info Point in Einruhr, Franz-Becker-Straße 2, 52152 Simmerath-Einruhr. A valid fishing license must be presented to acquire the fishing permit.
No fishing license available? This can be applied for at the responsible regulatory office of the municipality of Simmerath (www.simmerath.de) upon presentation of proof of the examination. A passport photo is required for this. A fee has to be paid.
The regulations for fishing on the Rursee can be found on the homepage of the Fischerei-Lächtergemeinschaft Rursee e.V..
