The 13th stage of the Eifelsteig leads from the monastery Himmerod to the little village Bruch.
The "slowing down" effect of Himmerod Monastery continues on the next stage of the Eifelsteig Trail: the trail follows the varied course of the River Salm, past its colourful riverbank flora and numerous mills and through ancient tree populations with wide overhanging crowns. Geologically interesting, almost perpendicular shale rock formations stand to be admired, as does the superb view of Bruch, with the two towers of its historic castle.
