Daffodil festival in Monschau- Höfen

Experience shows that the yellow, wild growing daffodils are in full bloom in Monschau in April. This wonderful spectacle - when the daffodils turn the meadows of the brooks into a sea of yellow flowers - will be duly celebrated on Sunday, 23 April 2023, at the Höfen National Park Gate and in the neighbouring association hall.

Together with the NRW Foundation and the Höfen Association, the Monschau Tourist Board offers a colourful programme all about the yellow Eifel beauty called "Narzissus pseudonarcissus". Among the numerous information stands, the Biological Station of the Aachen city region is also represented and presents a river pearl mussel project.

Early morning hike and other hikes

-The first early morning hike to the daffodils starts at 7 am.
-After the welcoming words, a guided hike to the daffodil meadows will be offered at 11 am.
-Specially for families, it will be exciting at 12 o'clock when a ranger sets off with parents and children to the daffodils.
- Another hike is offered at 2 pm.

Alternatively, Lyra Höfen will offer musical entertainment from 2 to 3 pm. Of course, there will again be food and drink stalls so that all walkers can set off to the daffodils well fortified.

Shuttle service

Those who want to shorten the routes a little can take the shuttle bus from the National Park Gate to the Höfener Mühle. Participation in the guided walks is free of charge, registration is not required. There is plenty of parking available at the neighbouring hikers' car park on the main road.
